We ask that you not eat fatty foods or drink coffee or soda beforehand, but we do not want you to fast. If you fast before your test, it may cause you to faint. We ask that you eat a light snack and drink plenty of water at least an hour before your blood analysis in La Jolla so you can achieve accurate results without feeling lightheaded or queasy.
Stay Informed About Your Health
At Beyond Body Wellness, we need to understand what’s going on in your body in order to craft a personalized care plan that will deliver the results you need. With blood analysis in La Jolla, we can learn key pieces of information regarding your health and utilize them to inform and determine which treatments will help you accomplish your goals.
Benefits of Lab Work
If you don't know your health is declining, your bloodwork could show early warning signs of disease or illness, allowing doctors to treat you before your condition becomes critical.
Bloodwork allows you to easily monitor the progression of any known diseases, continued treatments, and the function of your organs.
Instead of needing more invasive tests to learn more about your health, blood work is a simple and easy solution that lets providers know what they need in order to deliver the best care.
How it Works
Different tests require different treatments.
For example, to test your blood cell count, your blood sample will be inserted into a hematology analyzer, which will use a laser to count your blood cells. Other tests might require your blood sample to be put into a centrifuge, which will rapidly spin the sample to separate blood cells from blood serum.
Your blood analysis in La Jolla will be handled with the utmost care and safety, so you can get accurate results and understand what your body needs to achieve optimal health.
What to Expect.
Consultation
What you will experience when you first walk into Beyond Body is an initial consultation with one of our expert, knowledgable providers. They will talk with you to learn more about your medical history and understand what goals you have for your whole-body health journey. With this information, they’ll create a custom care plan with treatments that will help you achieve those goals. If those tests require a blood analysis in La Jolla, they’ll order the necessary labs to be drawn.
Testing
You may be able to do this immediately after your consultation, since lab draws take only a few minutes. Your provider will wrap a rubber band tightly around your arm and may flick your forearm to ensure they have a good vein to draw from. They will insert a needle into your arm and draw the blood they need. Once they are done, they’ll remove the needle and rubber band, then place and secure a cotton ball on the draw site.
Next Steps
After your blood is drawn, it will be sent to a lab, where it will undergo certain tests for vitamin deficiencies, cholesterol levels, and more. Using this information, your provider may alter your care plan to ensure that you will achieve the results you need.

The amount of blood taken during your blood analysis in La Jolla depends on what blood test your provider requests. A complete blood count (CBC) can take up to 30 milliliters of blood. While that may sound like a lot, it actually is not much compared to the amount of blood in the human body, which is anywhere between 4,500 and 5,700 milliliters.
